Going Offline For a Week

Well, everyone, I’m  heading to the East coast to visit with my terminally ill Mom. I will be offline while I’m there, as our laptop is on the fritz. Please pray for my mom, and for our entire family as we go through this with her. We’re all praying, ourselves, that the Lord would take her quickly and painlessly. Also, I’m not the biggest fan of flying, so you could pray for my calmness of heart too.

LeAnn will be posting our Sunday Set Lists this week and maybe next week, as well.

Blessings,

Wayne

PS – This is for you, Mom.

Must Watch – Brace Yourselves

This ministry has lost the use of their only vehicle! And now there is a website that’s been put together for donations to help them continue their plight to save children in Uganda. If  you would like to contribute to this cause, please visit One Van, One Village. May God bless those precious people who are sacrificing to reach those priceless children! They are God’s little ones!

Coming soon…

In the coming days, my wife, LeAnn and I are going to start trying our hands at video blogging with Worship Confessionals! Slowly, but surely we are moving into the realm of church 2.0, and we’re excited!

Stay tuned!

I am blogging from my other job today. I had to work on a Sunday! :( But my wife, LeAnn led worship today and rocked it like she always does when I’m not there. We normally lead as a team. So here is our set list for this week! Hope you all had a great morning of worship!

For His glory!

Greetings! We were really blessed yesterday at Daybreak! It’s missions month at our church, so we had some guest speakers. A married couple who are local missionaries in the Los Angeles area spoke first. They were inspiring and offered thought-provoking encouragement to take action and reach out to the world around us. After that, we had a real treat! Dr. Fermin Whittaker, Executive Director of the California Southern Baptist Convention, gave the sermon! Many of you subscribe to his son’s blog, Ragamuffin Soul (Los). Dr. Whittaker is a man of unique wisdom, who has a cunning ability to hear the voice of God. Whenever he comes to our church he brings a whole host of ministering angels with him! His smile and charisma are refreshing, and he cuts right to the chase in presenting the Word of God to our congregation. We love him dearly at Daybreak.

Our worship set went really well, despite the fact that our drummer over-slept. Everlasting God and Holy Is The Lord are strong selections in our church. We had a drums-only section planned for Holy Is The Lord, so during the greeting I slipped over behind the drums and then played for that song. There were lots of hands clapping and great energy during our first set!

I had a medley idea last week with the songs You Are Good (Gateway) and Breathe (Passion). I absolutely LOVED how it turned out! VERY worshipful and flowed very nicely! My only 2nd thought is that we didn’t stay on Breathe long enough! Next time we do it I’ll tweak that, but it was awesome!

Be blessed in your worship planning, my fellow WL’s! I pray you have the ears to hear His voice this week.

For His Glory!

Sunday Set List Blog Carnival over at FredMcKinnon.com.

I have to be totally honest here, it was a tough morning for us. We lost LeAnn’s grandmother at 1:30am last night. Neither one of us got any sleep to speak of. So that made it very difficult. We pushed through and worshiped our Lord. I know He was honored by it. But it wasn’t without it’s flaws. We had a rare train-wreck during “None But Jesus”. I was leading on acoustic. And for some reason my sound went out! Then, the band played something that didn’t sound right, my wife came in late with her line and it was so off that in my sleep deprivation I totally lost where I was in the song! UGH! I had to stop, quickly determine where we were and pick right back up. As train wrecks go, it was relatively mild because we hit right back on it and kept going. It made it harder though, because our youth group was doing an interpretive dance with the song. To their credit, they kept right on going and made it look easy.

Like I said, it was a tough morning. My sweet wife is grieving her grandmother. My Pastor(Father-in-law) is grieving the loss of his mother. But the Lord was lifted high today. And knowing all that was overcome to accomplish that… makes me smile. To Him be all glory and honor, forever. Now I’m going to go rest.

For His Kingdom,

Wayne
