I was so glad to get back to our normal set. Christmas music is fun once a year, but like I mentioned in my last post, it gets really old after a solid month of it! Today’s set-list was awesome! We’re still down a drummer and an electric guitarist, so I played drums on the first four songs, and then I broke off and sang some harmony behind LeAnn on Grace Flows Down. And I must say, my wife absolutely NAILED that song! I’m not biased either! Nailed it!

Thanks for stopping by to check out our set-list! Now go right over to FredMckinnon.com and check out what churches all over the world did this morning!

Sunday Set List – 12/20/09

CHOIR – Hark The Herald Angels Sing/Angels We Have Heard On High

What Child Is This

The First Noel

When I Speak Your Name

Our church, as you can see, is in the full swing of Christmas. However, I must admit that I am glad this Sunday was the last of the Christmas carols. I love Christmas, don’t get me wrong. But a full month of those start to grate on me by the end of December.

We lost our electric guitarist and our drummer, a brother and sister who moved out of town. So I am back to multi-tasking between leading worship with LeAnn and playing drums on the songs we just can’t do without them… which will be most songs! If I may, I would like to ask for your prayers about this. Please pray for God to fill our needs in the band.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Blessings from the Thomas/Daybreak family!

Today, we did our first Christmas music of the season. It was awesome! The worship center was all decorated, and it was a good kick-off to the Christmas season for our church. Having said that, LeAnn has a broken tooth and was in major pain through the whole thing. Poor wifey! But overall, it was a great morning of worship!

After you have commented below ;) …  Please go and check out the worldwide worship recaps over at FredMcKinnon.com!

Solitude

As I sit here at church, in the solitude of this empty sanctuary making final preparations for rehearsal tonight, I am reminded of how important it is to be alone and utterly silent before the Lord. He deserves for me to be His captive audience. He deserves for me to devote some alone time to Him. And I can NOT live or function within His will and purpose for me without making this time a priority in my daily life.

I encourage you to free up some moments of solitude in your day. And make yourself a captive audience for the King of Kings.
