Soul At Rest

This is the spiritual fruit and literary work of one of my close brothers-in-Christ, D’Andre Fuller. I was so blessed when he agreed to share his heart through poetry, and guest blog on deepwaterwalk.com! This is a real honor for me! Here is one of his poems. Please comment below and tell us what you think!

Soul At Rest

Your love covers me as a drenching rain
Softening my heart, washing away all fears and pain
Your love consumes me like a raging fire
Cleansing impurities from my heart, you are my greatest desire
Your love satifies me like a feast prepared for kings
I hunger and thirst no more for in you I have found all things
Your Word is delightful, even sweeter than honey
Your favor and grace is more beneficial than much money
Your love is extravagant, you have not withheld your best
You have pursued and captured my heart, Lord my soul is now at rest

A Home In Haiti

This copy is straight from the home page of ahomeinhaiti.org.

Shelter from the Rain… NOW!

In just a few days, it will begin to rain regularly in Haiti. Could you imagine living outside, permanently, in the rain, with nothing but cloth sheets held up by sticks to protect you? Currently, this is set to be the very harsh reality for over 700,000 Haitian men, women, and children who still have nothing to protect them from the elements. When you purchase waterproof tents or donate cash directly, it will provide an immediate home in Haiti for people that so desperately need it. These tents are Phase 1 of our long-term project, but are not debatable or optional.

Yes -homes of wood and stone and steel are needed. We are working on that RIGHT NOW, but while we work, we must ensure that we ACT to provide shelter from the impending rainy season that begins in March and hurricane season that begins in June. Our tents are flown & shipped weekly to Haiti through trusted partners and are distributed directly by experienced professionals on the ground.

Thank you for being the solution! Let’s get to work!

Permission To Speak Freely

I found this over at Anne Jackson’s blog, Flowerdust.net. I believe in this message. I feel it’s a truth that needs to be infused in the local church congregation. I was moved by the testimonies and by Anne’s video, so I thought I would share it with you.

Permission To Speak Freely. Check it out!

My Girl

My wife is amazing. She was up all night with screeching, laughing 12 year old girls, and now has been going non-stop since 6:30am on 3 hours of sleep! The kids had a blast, and have full tummies. The house is clean and smells so nice. My clothes are folded. AND she is still as sweet as ever! That kind of consistent sacrificial kindness can only come from one place, Jesus Christ.

Thank you, LeAnn, for being a living, daily example of Christ in our home, and in my life. I just want you to know that it doesn’t go unnoticed! I love you dearly, sweet girl.

Sunday Set List – 2/7/10

Pre-Service

God Of This City – Bluetree

Today Is The Day – Lincoln Brewster

Service

Better Is One Day/I Can Only Imagine medley – Matt Redman/Mercy Me

All Creatures Of Our God And King – LCMS Gathering Band

Revelation Song – Gateway Worship

Walk-Out

Better Is One Day/I Can Only Imagine medley – Matt Redman/Mercy Me

We have started back with the Pre-Service music, at the suggestion from our Pastor. It’s humorous, though, because our church really is confused by it still. Some people just look up at the stage with this bewildered look on their face, that screams, “What do we do now?” LOL! But we’re convinced that the more we do this instead of playing a CD before the service, the more people will get what it is… enhanced background music. Do you play Pre-Service music? If so, how does your church respond to it?

My favorite song of the set this week was the Better Is One Day/I Can Only Imagine medley! We played Better Is One Day through the bridge, then one more time through the chorus, and then our pianist started that unmistakable piano ‘lead in’ from I Can Only Imagine while the drummer kept the same beat and tempo from Better Is One Day. We started right into the chorus of I Can Only Imagine… “Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel? Will I dance for You Jesus, or in awe of You be still?” We sang the chorus through two times, and then went right back into the last part of Better Is One Day… “better is one day, better is one day, better is one day, than thousands elsewhere”. Then we brought it way down and ended quietly, and worshipfully on the chorus! It flowed really well, and our church worshiped to it in a powerful way.

What did your church sing on Sunday? Please leave a comment below and let us know! :)

Blessings!

There are a lot of great and exciting things happening at our church right now. And our set-list this morning reflected our excitement, as a worship team! It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced anything close to a revival in church, and I can honestly tell you that it feels like Daybreak is on the threshold of that very thing! Praise God!

New ministries are cropping up! A cosmetic overhaul has begun on our property, and our Worship Center was HOPPING today!!

So what happened at YOUR church??? Please comment below and tell me! I’d love to hear about it! And please be sure to head over to The Worship Community and check out what a lot of other churches did this morning!

Blessings!

Wayne
