Sunday Set List – 4/25/10

April 26, 2010

Daybreak Baptist Church

Glory To God Forever - Steve Fee

All Creatures Of Our God And King – LCMS Gathering Band

God Of This City – Bluetree

Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone – Chris Tomlin

Hiding Place – Jared Anderson

A lot of our women were out at the coast on a Women’s Retreat this weekend, including my wife LeAnn, who normally co-leads the worship services with me. So today was a bit different than usual. But it turned out great! It was a dynamic set, and even though we had fewer people in church today, due to the retreat, the worship was awesome.

We introduced a new song, Hiding Place by the Desperation Band and Jared Anderson. I think the church really liked it. Very nice addition to our rotation!

What music did you guys worship with this morning? Please comment below!

Service

Son Of GodStarfield

When I Speak You Name/Pure - Gateway Church/Kari Jobe

I’m late putting up our set-list! Sorry folks!

This was one of those services for me. One of THOSE services! I thought a lot went wrong. There were a lot of little mistakes on my part. Little mistakes on LeAnn’s part. But… and this is a big BUT… as the service went on I could tell that no one was fazed by them at all. Our church was worshiping the Lord! And I was so convicted right there on the stage, as we sang. My focus had been on details and technical issues that were held over from the pre-service run through, and I had failed to put those things aside in my mind and heart to do the one thing God had called me to do that morning – to lay everything aside and worship Him. I choked back the tears I felt and put it all down… and worshiped God.

I’m so thankful that God loves me in my imperfection. That He still calls me to do this even though I get it so wrong sometimes. He is a gracious and loving God, and He is so immensely worthy of our praise, worship, and adoration.

Thanks to all of you who read my blog. I really appreciate your comments. They are encouraging and bless me. So if you feel like it, please comment below and tell me what you did on Sunday at your church. Then go check out The Worship Community to read what others like us did at their churches.

May God richly bless you today!

Sunday Set List – Easter 2010

Revelation SongGateway Church

Our Easter service was A-MA-ZING!

This was our first time singing My Savior Lives, and it was HIGH ENERGY! I loved that song! And we combined Worthy Is The Lamb and Rev Song into a power medley that sent our church into a deep attitude of worship. I was so touched by the whole service. Everything went perfectly. Praise God!

Our Pastor’s message was also amazing! We are so blessed to have such wise and dynamic teaching every Sunday.

Please comment below and tell me what you did at your church this Easter Sunday morning. And be sure to also visit The Worship Community to check out what other churches and worship leaders did, as well!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Works

March 14, 2010

Recently, God has been wrecking my perceptions regarding church and ministry. It seems that I was really full of myself and I didn’t realize it at all. Isn’t it odd how we can be chugging along, “working for God”, but not notice some of the sin in our own hearts? I just knew I was dialed into what God wanted from me and that I had it mostly all figured out.

I didn’t.

So He’s opening my eyes to some things. Take a look at this scripture:

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 – “By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.”

God is saying, what are you building on? Are you building on Christ, or on something else? And will your work escape the flames and become a reward for you, or will it burn up and be lost? “…the fire will test the quality of each man’s work.”

Then, He pointed me to Matthew 25.

Sunday Set List – 3/7/10

March 9, 2010

We had a blast this Sunday! We led worship at two different churches! Here are our set-lists!

Daybreak Baptist Church

Pre-Service

The Lord Reigns – Gateway

Service

Today Is The Day – Lincoln Brewster

Better Is One Day – Matt Redman

Healer – Hillsong

All The Way My Savior Leads Me – Chris Tomlin

First Presbyterian

Contemporary Service

How Great Thou Art – Paul Baloche

Glorious One – Steve Fee

Praise The Father Praise The Son – Chris Tomlin

Wonderful Merciful Savior – Selah

O The Blood – Hillsong

Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone – Chris Tomlin

So we finished our set at Daybreak at 10:30am, ran out to my truck, then jammed across town to be on-stage at First Pres. before the 11am start time of their service! LOL! It was pretty crazy! But I’ll tell you this, God was glorified in both of those services! That was the most fun I’ve had in a while! It was stressful as heck for me, personally, but it was a blast watching my wife, because she is so gifted for this stuff! So I should say, I was a stress ball who was having a blast!

What did you guys do at your church on Sunday? Please comment below! Then head over to The Worship Community to see what a lot of other churches did for their worship services!

Sunday Set List – 2/28/10

Daybreak Baptist Church

Your Grace Is Enough – Chris Tomlin

Jesus Messiah – Chris Tomlin

No Sweeter Name – Kari Jobe

(Invitation) The More I Seek You – Kari Jobe

We were without our drummer today. So I ended up playing, but only on No Sweeter Name. The dynamics in that song could not have been achieved without the drums. So, aside from that, we went without any hiccups today!

Please comment below and let me know what you did at your church! And be sure to head over to TheWorshipCommunity.com to check out other Sunday Setlists from other worship leaders around the world!

Soul At Rest

February 23, 2010

This is the spiritual fruit and literary work of one of my close brothers-in-Christ, D’Andre Fuller. I was so blessed when he agreed to share his heart through poetry, and guest blog on deepwaterwalk.com! This is a real honor for me! Here is one of his poems. Please comment below and tell us what you think!

Soul At Rest

Your love covers me as a drenching rain
Softening my heart, washing away all fears and pain
Your love consumes me like a raging fire
Cleansing impurities from my heart, you are my greatest desire
Your love satifies me like a feast prepared for kings
I hunger and thirst no more for in you I have found all things
Your Word is delightful, even sweeter than honey
Your favor and grace is more beneficial than much money
Your love is extravagant, you have not withheld your best
You have pursued and captured my heart, Lord my soul is now at rest

A Home In Haiti

Shelter from the Rain… NOW!

In just a few days, it will begin to rain regularly in Haiti. Could you imagine living outside, permanently, in the rain, with nothing but cloth sheets held up by sticks to protect you? Currently, this is set to be the very harsh reality for over 700,000 Haitian men, women, and children who still have nothing to protect them from the elements. When you purchase waterproof tents or donate cash directly, it will provide an immediate home in Haiti for people that so desperately need it. These tents are Phase 1 of our long-term project, but are not debatable or optional.

Yes -homes of wood and stone and steel are needed. We are working on that RIGHT NOW, but while we work, we must ensure that we ACT to provide shelter from the impending rainy season that begins in March and hurricane season that begins in June. Our tents are flown & shipped weekly to Haiti through trusted partners and are distributed directly by experienced professionals on the ground.

Thank you for being the solution! Let’s get to work!
