I wear a lot of different hats. I’m a Christ-follower, a husband, a dad, a musician, a Worship Leader, a Deacon at my church, a Men’s Ministry Director, a social web junkie, a blogger, a thunderstorm enthusiast, a sports NUT, a grace insurgent, a Person Of The Second Chance, and a lover of people.
The bible says to “Do everything in love.” (1 Cor 16:14) It says “love never fails.” (1 Cor 13:8). It even says to “love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.” (Matt 5:44). My point? My point is that we were all created with a very specific, and common purpose… and that purpose is to love. Jesus said all of the commandments and prophets hang on these two commandments, to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. And to love your neighbors as yourselves.” (Matt 22:37-40) This is what I want my legacy to be. When I’m gone, I want those who were within my influence to say, “That man loved.” He loved his God, he loved his wife and children, he loved his family, he loved his brothers and sisters in Christ, he loved the downtrodden, and the broken, and the people who needed a second chance… he loved, he loved, he loved.
My name is Wayne Thomas. And this blog is a record of my journey through life, pursuant to the commands of a loving Savior.
Thank you for visiting!
Hey Wayne,
I used to be a member of the original deepwaterwalk forum on InvisionFree. I think my username was ratedc or radar. Can’t really remember. I got nostalgic and decided to check old forums out. Found your blog. Glad to hear the heart thing has been overcome. I’m an ambulance driver, so I get to see these things from the other side. I’m also a pastor now in a village in Alaska. I was in Bible college last time I was on your forum. Just wanted to say hello and Merry Christmas.
Hey Bill, I apologize for never replying to this kind comment. Obviously, I let my blog lie dormant for several years, but I am about to revive it and hope to return to blogging regularly. I am about a 1/3 of the way through Seminary, and am an aspiring Pastor, as well. It’s great to hear of your ministry. If, by some chance, you get this as a notification let me know how I can follow you and keep up with your mission and ministry.
Blessings!
Hey again Wayne,
Sounds like you’re pretty busy. I’m going into my 12th year as a pastor. We don’t do much on the web. Most of our updates are by snailmail and some email. I’ll check in from time to time.
Where are you going to school? Any chance of ever attending the Shepherd’s Conference in LA. I go most years. SDG!
