-Come Thou Fount/It Is Well/Old Rugged Cross/Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus – Hymn Medley

-Made Me Glad – Hillsong

I am so blessed by what I saw God do in our church today! We had an amazing morning of worship, prayer, and healing at Daybreak.

We brought back some hymns that we haven’t done in a few months, and the church responded in an amazing way! And Made Me Glad is probably my favorite Worship Song right now. It says everything my heart wants to say when I’m singing to the Lord.

I hope you had an amazing time worshiping the Lord this morning! Thank you for stopping by to see what we did. Now, if you would, please go over to The Worship Community and check out what other worship leaders from around the world did at their churches today!

Sunday Set List – 1/3/10

Daybreak Baptist Church 01/03/10

Everlasting God – Brewster

The Lord Reigns – Gateway

Indescribable – Tomlin

Here I Am To Worship – Hillsong

Healer – Hillsong

We’re still really challenged by the lack of some key instrumentalists in our band, but our service was orchestrated by the Holy Spirit today. A big thanks to Joseph Hampton who sat in on drums at the last second!

The whole set flowed very well, I thought. The church was bouncing with the tempo of the first two songs, and really joyous. It was fun. But once we got to “Here I Am To Worship” I could sense the congregation was really worshiping. And “Healer” was an absolute heart-cleansing experience for me this time. Great way to start out the new year!

Thanks for stopping by! And come join us over at The Worship Community to check out many more Set-lists from around the world!

I was so glad to get back to our normal set. Christmas music is fun once a year, but like I mentioned in my last post, it gets really old after a solid month of it! Today’s set-list was awesome! We’re still down a drummer and an electric guitarist, so I played drums on the first four songs, and then I broke off and sang some harmony behind LeAnn on Grace Flows Down. And I must say, my wife absolutely NAILED that song! I’m not biased either! Nailed it!

CHOIR – Hark The Herald Angels Sing/Angels We Have Heard On High

What Child Is This

The First Noel

When I Speak Your Name

Our church, as you can see, is in the full swing of Christmas. However, I must admit that I am glad this Sunday was the last of the Christmas carols. I love Christmas, don’t get me wrong. But a full month of those start to grate on me by the end of December.

We lost our electric guitarist and our drummer, a brother and sister who moved out of town. So I am back to multi-tasking between leading worship with LeAnn and playing drums on the songs we just can’t do without them… which will be most songs! If I may, I would like to ask for your prayers about this. Please pray for God to fill our needs in the band.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Blessings from the Thomas/Daybreak family!

Today, we did our first Christmas music of the season. It was awesome! The worship center was all decorated, and it was a good kick-off to the Christmas season for our church. Having said that, LeAnn has a broken tooth and was in major pain through the whole thing. Poor wifey! But overall, it was a great morning of worship!

We normally start off with a faster song than GTGF, but it worked today! It was one of those services where I thought the flow wasn’t as good as I had thought  it would be when we planned it. But afterward, I had several folks come up to me to compliment us on the music, saying it was very worshipful. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? I love it when that happens!

Our service was absolutly amazing today. Most Sundays I would have some reports of mistakes and mishaps that had happened and had been overcome. But this morning, the Holy Spirit took over and made it what HE wanted it to be! It’s a very exciting thing to be in church when that happens! We had SIX (6) baptisms! I’m still on the mountaintop from that experience. Praise God!

You, You Are God (Gateway Worship)

Let The Worshipers Arise (Phillips Craig and Dean)

Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Hymn)

Wonderful Maker (Chris Tomlin)

This was the third Sunday in a row that we were without our very talented piano player, Jas0n. So, it was the third week in a row where we had a more acoustic sound, being led by guitars. Our keyboard player jumped over to the piano to play our hymn for us, and that was great! All that said, our church has been a piano-led church for as many years as it’s been in existence, so I believe our people have really enjoyed the different sound and feel that guitar-led worship music adds to a service. I believe the absence of Jason has given us the confidence to mix this sound into our rotation a lot more often.

How did YOU worship the Lord this morning?

Sunday Set List – 07/19/09

soundboardsundaysetlist

Today was a very “glitchy” Sunday! From the moment I walked into church and set off the alarm system, I knew it was going to be one of those days! We had lyrics issues on the screens and accompaniment track problems with Special Music. We had a Mom and her two grown daughters up to sing a trio, and when they got up onstage, the tape was at the end of the side it was on, instead of being cued up in the proper place (my fault). Honestly, we don’t use many “cassette tapes” anymore. But as this issue was being resolved there was a solid 2 or 3 minutes of awkward silence in the auditorium. And we talked about this at lunch. It is so strange how people react to silence! They can’t stay silent! Murmuring began, and my Father-in-law (our Pastor) was telling me, as we ate, that he was listening to the things that were being said around him. Some things were sarcastic about the situation, and others were just chatting to break the silence. Nonetheless, he was intrigued by this response in human nature. The more I think about it, so am I. Silence, when we are alone is a very natural thing. I yearn for those moments in my day. It’s where I talk to God and He talks to me. But what is it about silence when we are in a room full of people that freaks us out so much? Haha! Anyway, the tape was corrected, the song went on, and the church was blessed, regardless of the hiccups in our service today.

Here is our setlist:

“You, You Are God” by Gateway Worship

This was our first time singing this song in our church. It was a BLAST! I absolutely loved the tempo, the energy and the response we got from our church on this one! I believe we’ll do it again in a couple of weeks.

“Mighty To Save” by Hillsong

This one’s a classic, and a beloved song in our church.

“Worthy Is The Lamb” by Hillsong

This was another first in our church. We never do two new songs on the same Sunday! But we pulled it off without a hitch. This one is so worshipful! And we flowed seamlessly into Revelation Song out if it. As my son would say it, “It was so bomb”.

“Revelation Song” by Gateway Worship

For me, this song is it. This is the one. This is my very favorite worship song of ALL TIME. And I must say, Worthy Is The Lamb and Rev Song are fraternal twins! What a dynamic duo this was for us today!

So that was it. The day was full of imperfections. But I believe God was glorified and beamed with joy watching us stammer and struggle to lift His mighty Name. “For in our weakness, He is made strong.”
