Greetings! We were really blessed yesterday at Daybreak! It’s missions month at our church, so we had some guest speakers. A married couple who are local missionaries in the Los Angeles area spoke first. They were inspiring and offered thought-provoking encouragement to take action and reach out to the world around us. After that, we had a real treat! Dr. Fermin Whittaker, Executive Director of the California Southern Baptist Convention, gave the sermon! Many of you subscribe to his son’s blog, Ragamuffin Soul (Los). Dr. Whittaker is a man of unique wisdom, who has a cunning ability to hear the voice of God. Whenever he comes to our church he brings a whole host of ministering angels with him! His smile and charisma are refreshing, and he cuts right to the chase in presenting the Word of God to our congregation. We love him dearly at Daybreak.

Our worship set went really well, despite the fact that our drummer over-slept. Everlasting God and Holy Is The Lord are strong selections in our church. We had a drums-only section planned for Holy Is The Lord, so during the greeting I slipped over behind the drums and then played for that song. There were lots of hands clapping and great energy during our first set!

I had a medley idea last week with the songs You Are Good (Gateway) and Breathe (Passion). I absolutely LOVED how it turned out! VERY worshipful and flowed very nicely! My only 2nd thought is that we didn’t stay on Breathe long enough! Next time we do it I’ll tweak that, but it was awesome!

Be blessed in your worship planning, my fellow WL’s! I pray you have the ears to hear His voice this week.

For His Glory!

Wayne

This was our first Sunday using walk in music. It was really cool! Normally we have a CD playing, but I love the energy this created in the room as people came in. Very cool.

Today was a very emotional day at Daybreak. A group of kids in our Youth group got into some trouble over the weekend, and today was a day of repentence and tears with a lot of folks down at the altar. It was precious to watch the Holy Spirit healing hearts and minds right before our eyes. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

What did your church do today?

In His grip,

Wayne

Our worship service went to another level this morning. It was absolutely the most worshipful service I have ever experienced at this church! Praise God! And it was mostly contemporary music, with the exception of the Invitation! That is amazing!

What did God do at your church today?

Today was amazing! Our Pastor called for our church to come back to one service on Sundays until further notice. He said he felt the Lord leading him to get everyone together in the same service this year. We haven’t had people leave or lose any membership, or anything like that. It’s just something he felt called to do. And wow was it ever amazing! Our sanctuary was at full capacity! The energy in that room was absolutely amazing. I was speechless afterwards! I am so thankful that I have a Pastor who listens to God. It was SO evident that this was ordered by the Lord.

I hope you all experienced God in a mighty way today! Thanks for stopping by to read my Sunday Set List!

In His Service,

Wayne

Worship Planning

There are three of us that plan the worship services at our church. We do it as a team, and the Lord has done some amazing things to put this team together. But lately, we are having the hardest time getting ouselves ahead enough in our planning to keep us out of the late-night, last-minute key changes, frantic emailings, and hustle and bustle to get ready for Wednesday night rehearsal. We really are thinking ahead all the time. But something is blocking our ability to get over that hump and find our time-management zone again. I’m praying for God to help us find or see those extra minutes in our day to take advantage of.

What is the process that you, my fellow worship leaders, go through to plan your services? Suggestions?

Gratefully His,

Wayne
