Counting My Blessings

Today, a local family lost their 9-year-old son. He was playing with a school mate in front of his house when a man pulled up in a car, got out and shot the boy, then abducted him and drove off. This evening, they found his body in a nearby field. And authorities have not yet caught the perpetrator. I’m choking up as I write this, and I have prayed for this unfortunate family as they walk through, what must be, the most difficult and darkest time in their lives. I can not even imagine losing one of my children, and I pray against that happening every morning.

I’m not sure what caused me to write about this tonight, except that I sit here counting my blessings with a heavy heart. If you are a Christian please remember this family in your prayers tonight. And everyone take notice of how absolutely short our time in this life really is.

Blessings to you all…

Prayer Request

My sons are traveling back east to Georgia to visit with their mother, extended family and friends tonight. Please pray for their safe journey, and for God’s covering over their hearts and spirits as they spend this next week there. Thank you in advance.

Christians Consecrate First Church in Qatar

March 17, 2008

DOHA, Qatar – Thousands of worshipers have attended the consecration of Qatar’s first Christian church, ending decades of underground worship in the Sunni Muslim Persian Gulf nation.Cardinal Ivan Dias presented the new Roman Catholic parish of Our Lady of the Rosary with a chalice offered by Pope Benedict. Saturday’s five-hour Mass was conducted in English with prayers in Arabic, Hindi and the Tagalog language of the Philippines.

Some 3,000 worshipers filled the church, and 7,000 more gathered outside.

The church’s exterior features no Christian symbols that would offend local Muslims.

Nearby, five more churches are under construction for other Christian denominations in oil-rich Qatar, where more than 70 percent of the population is comprised of expatriate workers.

Little Things

Luke 16:10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

How do I convey this to a 16 year old who knows everything? Better yet, how do I learn this myself? It’s so simple, yet so vital. And it is a spiritual truth that God acts on without fail. If He can not trust us with very little He can not trust us with much. It’s right there in black and white. If you are struggling with anything in your life, and I’m saying this to myself as I sit here and type… this is a good place to start to look to understand why you may be struggling.

Now back to my 16 year old…

Pray for me!

Deja Vu

Have you ever had Deja Vu? What a strange and mysterious phenomenon that is! It recently happened to me and it was amazing! Have you ever wondered what it is? Is it just a random electric pulse that floods our cerebral pathways with “almost identical” memories of events from the past? Or is it something much deeper and much, much more important? This latest occurrence caused me to dive deeper. This time it felt like a very real confirmation of a vision God had given me years ago. How cool is that?! Dreams, visions, Deja Vu… all windows into our subconscious minds, and quite possibly into our very souls. Science tells us that we only use a tiny fraction of the capacity of our brains. What is the rest for? Well, I submit to you that the Lord Almighty speaks to me in my dreams. I believe that visions are also of Him. And I believe that Deja Vu is yet another form of confirmation or communication from God. So if you have experienced this and ever wondered what it was or why it was happening, even what it meant… my suggestion is that you pray and ask God what He is trying to say to you. Ask Him, and then be quiet and listen. And, oh, one more thing… prepare to be amazed!

A Promotion!

I have been promoted at work! It’s a wonderful feeling to feel respected and appreciated in my industry. I would just like to give God the glory, while at the same time ask Him for His equipping grace and boundless favor as I walk day-by-day with Him and try to discern His will for my life.

New ministry, New promotion, New challenges! Thank you, Lord. You are mighty and worthy to be praised!
