I had to work at my “other” job today. I really can’t stand working my other job on Sundays. Grr! But my wife and I tag team the worship leading, so if I’m unable to be there, she and the rest of the team roll with it! I’m so blessed by all of them! They all do a terrific job!

For more details on the worship service today, please check out LeAnn’s Blog!

Blessings!

We had a really smooth set today… no big mistakes, smooth, fluid sound. You have to love it when that happens! The worship took a noticeably deeper turn after the Pastor made an altar call right in the middle of the set.  And by the time we got to No Sweeter Name there was a sweet spirit of worship in our auditorium. Our church is in love with that song now. It gives us a good feeling too. It seems like yesterday when we introduced them to it. I love it when a plan comes together!

It was another great morning of worship at DBC! And I’m so blessed by that and so thankful for it! To God be all glory and honor and power, forever! Amen!

Greetings!

Today, our drummer was out sick, so I played drums for the opening song, “Trading My Sorrows”. It was great! It really got our church up and praising the goodness of God. After that, I dropped the sticks and we went without drums the rest of the way.”New Doxology” was very strong. It’s one of those songs for our church that everyone knows now, and they can all worship with it without having to read the words on the screens. Big-time, go-to song for us! Then the “Heaven’s Song” medley was awesome! Very worshipful! The verse in that chorus, “Holy, Holy, You alone are worthy” really helps me to lay everything down in my heart and mind at that moment and just approach the throne! He truly is the ONLY One Who is holy and worthy! Praise His holy Name!

I must confess, I had no idea how to sing Holy Ground before the service started! LOL! I grew up attending more contemporary-styled churches and hadn’t been exposed to a lot of the older choruses and hymns until pretty recently. But it turned out to be very easy and the medley went very well. And then my lovely wife sang “We Cry Out”, by Kari Jobe and Gateway Worship. Three words for you …

A — MAZ — ING! That’s three words, right?? LOL! But seriously, “We Cry Out”, as sung by LeAnn, was just so beatiful! Our worship team did a wonderful job with all of the harmony in the song. Kudos to all of them! All in all, it was a wonderful morning of worship.

LeAnn and I are continuing to try to practice up with the video camera to start trying our hands with the video worship confessionals. But I’m afraid I’m a slow learner when it comes to the Pinnacle video editing software! Uggh! Maybe someday soon we’ll be able to start posting some videos… someday. Haha!

Well that’s about all! Hope you all had a tremendous morning worshiping our Lord and Savior!

For Him,

Wayne

===================================

This Sunday Set List is being blogged in conjunction with the

Sunday Set List Blog Carnival over at FredMcKinnon.com.

I have to be totally honest here, it was a tough morning for us. We lost LeAnn’s grandmother at 1:30am last night. Neither one of us got any sleep to speak of. So that made it very difficult. We pushed through and worshiped our Lord. I know He was honored by it. But it wasn’t without it’s flaws. We had a rare train-wreck during “None But Jesus”. I was leading on acoustic. And for some reason my sound went out! Then, the band played something that didn’t sound right, my wife came in late with her line and it was so off that in my sleep deprivation I totally lost where I was in the song! UGH! I had to stop, quickly determine where we were and pick right back up. As train wrecks go, it was relatively mild because we hit right back on it and kept going. It made it harder though, because our youth group was doing an interpretive dance with the song. To their credit, they kept right on going and made it look easy.

Like I said, it was a tough morning. My sweet wife is grieving her grandmother. My Pastor(Father-in-law) is grieving the loss of his mother. But the Lord was lifted high today. And knowing all that was overcome to accomplish that… makes me smile. To Him be all glory and honor, forever. Now I’m going to go rest.

For His Kingdom,

Wayne
