Word Of God SpeakMercy Me

This morning was an awesome time of worship! Everything went well, and I loved the attitude of worship that I saw! My only regret is that I started tearing up on Word Of God Speak, and for whatever reason I couldn’t shake it off. My voice was shaky from trying to control the torrent of tears that was pressing the backs of my eyes. Nevertheless, everyone worshiped through my emotions and poor singing, so I was glad.

Has this ever happened to you? What do you do when you’re leading a song and tears of surrender and worship press hard to be released? My throat closed up and my vocals were rendered powerless. Vocal gurus, is there a secret to controlling this?

Thank you for reading my blog. I would love it if you would comment below and tell me about your worship service/s this morning. And I invite you to go over to check out other Sunday Setlists at theworshipcommunity.com.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus – Invitation/Altar call

I stepped away from blogging over the last couple of months.  Summer time-Family time-Down time. But I’m excited to be back in my blogging chair!

I was very pleased with our worship service on Sunday. As you can see, we had a Lincoln Brewster kick-off to the morning. And even though we were without our drummer, those songs provided great energy and some awesome praise to the King!

The song “Pure”, by Gateway is one of my favorites. And LeAnn always sings the Kari Jobe stuff that we do so beautifully! This one is a staple in our rotation, and it was a great moment of worship on Sunday.

I run to You when my heart is weak
I cling to You, You’re all I seek
It’s my heart’s desire to be close to You
Here in Your arms I find my strength

And Hiding Place, by Jared Anderson was a sweet, closing moment to our worship time. God is our hiding place. I love Psalm 46: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Dictionary.com says that ‘refuge’ means – shelter or protection from danger, trouble. It’s so vitally important for us all to realize how real, and how tangible our ‘hiding place’ or our ‘refuge’ is in the Lord. And I love how the chorus of this song stayed in theme with the chorus of ‘Pure’.

I will run to the hiding place
I will run to the hiding place
Draw me ever closer to look upon Your face
I will run to the hiding place

I hope you had an intimate time of worshiping our Lord and Savior during your worship service. Would you comment below, and share any special moments you had in your church service, or with the Lord in general this week?

We normally start off with a faster song than GTGF, but it worked today! It was one of those services where I thought the flow wasn’t as good as I had thought  it would be when we planned it. But afterward, I had several folks come up to me to compliment us on the music, saying it was very worshipful. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? I love it when that happens!

What did your church do this morning?

Our service was absolutly amazing today. Most Sundays I would have some reports of mistakes and mishaps that had happened and had been overcome. But this morning, the Holy Spirit took over and made it what HE wanted it to be! It’s a very exciting thing to be in church when that happens! We had SIX (6) baptisms! I’m still on the mountaintop from that experience. Praise God!

C – The Lord Reigns – Gateway Worship

G – Hallelujah, Your Love Is Amazing – Phillips Craig and Dean

E – Here I Am To Worship – Hillsong

B – Oceans Will Part – Hillsong

F – Come Just As You Are – Crystal Lewis – (Invitation)

C – Just As I Am – Paul Baloche – (Invitation)

Today was AWESOME! “The Lord Reigns” is a GREAT opening song! I strongly recommend it! I led worship for this song. It’s so upbeat and has such a great tempo that the crowd really gets up and into it! There was a lot of clapping and shouts of praise … great energy! Then the classic from Phillips Craig and Dean, “Hallelujah, Your Love Is Amazing”. I led this on guitar today, and I thought it sounded fine. It’s not my absolute favorite song, but our church really responds to it. Then we did “Here I Am To Worship” the Hillsong version. I led this one on guitar, as well, and it was very worshipful. I loved how it turned out. We finished up the set with Hillsong’s “Oceans Will Part”. Very smooth and worshipful. LeAnn led it beautifully! And our worship team did a great job on all their parts. Sounded very nice.

We had a better response to the Invitation time today too. It’s always such a blessing to see people responding to the Holy Spirit like that!

————————————————————————————

Greetings!

Today, our drummer was out sick, so I played drums for the opening song, “Trading My Sorrows”. It was great! It really got our church up and praising the goodness of God. After that, I dropped the sticks and we went without drums the rest of the way.”New Doxology” was very strong. It’s one of those songs for our church that everyone knows now, and they can all worship with it without having to read the words on the screens. Big-time, go-to song for us! Then the “Heaven’s Song” medley was awesome! Very worshipful! The verse in that chorus, “Holy, Holy, You alone are worthy” really helps me to lay everything down in my heart and mind at that moment and just approach the throne! He truly is the ONLY One Who is holy and worthy! Praise His holy Name!

I must confess, I had no idea how to sing Holy Ground before the service started! LOL! I grew up attending more contemporary-styled churches and hadn’t been exposed to a lot of the older choruses and hymns until pretty recently. But it turned out to be very easy and the medley went very well. And then my lovely wife sang “We Cry Out”, by Kari Jobe and Gateway Worship. Three words for you …

A — MAZ — ING! That’s three words, right?? LOL! But seriously, “We Cry Out”, as sung by LeAnn, was just so beatiful! Our worship team did a wonderful job with all of the harmony in the song. Kudos to all of them! All in all, it was a wonderful morning of worship.

LeAnn and I are continuing to try to practice up with the video camera to start trying our hands with the video worship confessionals. But I’m afraid I’m a slow learner when it comes to the Pinnacle video editing software! Uggh! Maybe someday soon we’ll be able to start posting some videos… someday. Haha!

Well that’s about all! Hope you all had a tremendous morning worshiping our Lord and Savior!

For Him,

Wayne
